Sightseeing the northern area outside the city wall

• Wat Si Chum located to the northwest outside the city wall where the revered
  “Phra Achana” Buddha image situated. The Buddha image is very well known
  for its massive size and intriguing stuccowork that represents Buddhist art of
  serene Sukhothai Buddha image.
• Wat Phrapai Luang, the temple complex assumed to be the former center of
  the town
• Tao Tu Riang or Sangkhalok kilns, Sangkhalok refers to Sukhothai traditional
  pottery which was widely produced from 14th century. This area is found with
  more than 50 kilos scattering around. This indicates that Sukhothai pottery
  was once an industrial activity.

Visit Sangkhalok village where local people are still making Sukhothai traditional
style ceramics. There are some local ceramics workshops in the area.

Visit the north area where 15-meter-high sitting Buddha image ” Phra Achana” is
situated. This Buddha image is regarded as the most revered one in town.
Explore area of ancient kilns, built in 14th-15th century to produce Sukhothai
ceramics and pottery (Sangkhalok wares) as the exported products to overseas in
the period of flourished maritime trading.
